Background information

Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian and development organisation whose aim is to end extreme poverty. Concern currently works in 26 countries around the world, as well as delivering a Global Citizenship Education (GCE) and campaigns programme across the Island or Ireland through the Global Citizenship (GC) unit. As part of this programme of work, Concern support smaller organisations who deliver GCE across the Island of Ireland with funding to work on specific projects. This includes the Concern grants scheme, and the Primary Debates Programme grants to Education Resource centres across Ireland.

The review's main aim is to assess the current grants scheme and grants to primary education centres who run the Primary Debates regionally on behalf of Concern, and propose changes where required to strengthen this programme.
