MQI Jane’s Place – Female Specific Service

Responsible to: Women’s Services Coordinator

Responsible for: The direct delivery of counselling and facilitation of groups to clients in MQI’s Female Specific Service Dublin.

Reports to: Service Coordinator

Objective: 

To effectively deliver one to one counselling, group-work, and care planning to female clients of MQI, and in doing so to uphold the philosophy and work ethos of MQI.

MQI are looking to recruit a Female Counsellor to work in an exciting new Trauma Informed service for women with experiences of homelessness and/or addiction. The aim of the service is to provide a safe space to empower women to address their physical and psychological needs, with access to one-to-one case management, counselling, psycho-educational, medical and holistic needs.

This role will be part of the team responsible for the growth and operation of a new female only day service, “Jane’s Place” based in Dublin with in-reach clinics into partner agencies.

The female only day service provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for access to information and supports across health, addiction, life skills, gender-based violence, coercive control, legal issues, education, employment support, counselling and mental health services. The role of the counsellor will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including an all-female staff team including a Doctor, Registered General Nurse (RGN),

Mental Health Case Worker, counsellor, project workers and service co-ordinator.

The role involves providing 1:1 counselling with female service users, group work, in-reach into other community projects as well as advocating and giving a voice to female service users and facilitating research.
