The Organisation:

Cheeverstown is a voluntary organisation, regulated by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA).

We provide a wide range of person-centered services including Supported Living, respite and day services to almost 400 adults with an intellectual disability in the south Dublin area.

Purpose of the Post:

We are recruiting Social Care Workers for Supported Living services to join our team on both full-time (39 hr.) and part-time (19.5hr) contracts. The role of the Social Care Worker is to ensure a high-quality standard of care and support to all the people we support and to ensure high-quality support in accordance with New Directions standards. We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals with a strong person-centered vision to join our team on a full-time (39 hr.), specified purpose contract

Person Specification:

  • Have proven organisational, leadership, effective communication, interpersonal and team-building skills with the ability to influence others
  • Have a comprehensive ability to communicate, liaise and coordinate with MDT, families, colleagues and other agencies, both verbally and in writing.
  • A passion for promoting and empowering those you support in a person-centered approach, which will also encompass community inclusion and individualised support.
  • Experience in staff supervisions
  • Ability to use own initiative in service provision
  • Fully flexible in working hours and location to meet the requirements of the service.

Essential Criteria:

  • Applicants must possess a CORU approved qualification at NFQ Level 7 or above in Social Care / Applied Social Studies and/or be currently registered with CORU as a Social Care Worker.
  • A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award.
  • An enthusiastic, motivated professional who displays a person-centered approach and a sustained commitment to supporting the individual and promoting community inclusion
  • Possess a proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Previous experience of supporting individuals with intellectual disability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills
  • Possess a good knowledge of HIQA regulations
  • Strong commitment to increasing opportunities for people to become valued contributing members of their local community and to live their best life.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland

Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to collaborate and work as a member of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good IT and administrative skills.
  • Experience in Staff Supervisions

Please note: All job offers are subject to two successful references, qualifications, ongoing Garda Vetting and a satisfactory pre-employment medical. Salary will be paid at the Social Care worker scale on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
