Applications are invited for the post of:

Family Support and Community Development Worker

Full-time 35 hrs. (28 hrs. maybe an option)

Overall Aim:

To work with the Project Coordinator and the community to determine the needs within the catchment area. To build confidence and capacity of individuals, families and groups through supporting and developing relevant programmes and activities. To provide family support to children, individuals and families.

The ideal candidate should have: -

• A relevant 3rd level qualification level 7 or higher e.g. Family Support, Community Development or related discipline. Candidates with exceptional experience may be considered in lieu of qualifications.
• At least 2 years’ experience of providing family support in a community-based setting, including.
• Having experience of providing one-to-one family support to parents and families.
• Proven experience of working effectively in a team environment.
• Working collaboratively with community, voluntary and statutory agencies.
• Experience in developing programmes and activities in response to identified needs.
• Ability to maintain high quality case records, possess IT, social media and report writing skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload with complex needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Access to own transport and current clean driving licence.
• A good understanding and or experience in using the Meitheal process.

The contract will be permanent subject to continued funding by Tusla Child and Family Agency.
