What is the position?

Community Service Manager (CSM) is responsible for the operational management and development of day service supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities and ASD. The Manager may also be responsible for other community-based services such as Supporting Independent Living or Outreach services.

Location: Galway City
Type of contract: Full time permanent (40 hours per week)

Qualifications

  • Degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care or equivalent/similar
  • A post registration management qualification in health or a related field (desirable)

Experience/Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the area of social care or relevant sector e.g community settings
  • Experience of working in a care environment for adults and children with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autism
  • Strong IT and problem solving skills
  • Possess a full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A knowledge of New Directions Interim Standards for Day Services
