Refuge Support Workers x 3 

Full-time Posts, 39 hours per week

The post is 39 hours per week excluding lunch breaks, with responsibility for supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse/coercive control. The work will involve working as part of a team to provide a range of services to residents, e.g. key working, support planning and advocacy. Women’s Aid Dundalk’s refuge and helpline operates on a 24/7 basis and a 12 hour shift pattern is currently being implemented.

The successful candidate will have:

Essential:

  • Third level qualification and/or two years’ experience of working directly with women and children experiencing Domestic Abuse/Coercive Control
  • A commitment to professional development.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Empathetic attitude towards the needs of women and children impacted by domestic abuse/coercive control.
  • Experience of working co-operatively with other services and relationship building.
  • Experience assessing risk with women and safety planning.
  • Commitment to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work on their own, and to seek support and guidance when needed.
  • Access to transport and full driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience of Advocating on behalf of women.
