Clondalkin Travellers Development Group is a community development project which is a partnership between Travellers and non-Travellers, working together to promote the rights of Travellers as a nomadic ethnic group within Irish Society.

We are seeking to recruit a

Community Development Education Worker 
(35 hours per week)

Who, working from community development principles will seek to support Traveller children and young people in education both at a strategic and an individual level.

Key responsibilities:

• To undertake research to ascertain the educational needs/experiences of Traveller children and young people
• To develop a local action plan based on the needs identified
• To work with identified local schools to improve the learning experiences for Traveller children and young people thus ensuring a positive school experience for Traveller children and young people.
• To support parental engagement with local schools
• To identify additional services which may support young Travellers in Education
• To work with young Travellers and their families in relation to school completion

The successful candidate will be required to comply with Garda Vetting procedures.
