Vacancy – Full-time Project Leader UBU Your Place Your Space
Ballymun Regional Youth Resource (BRYR) is a professional youth work organisation working for the welfare, development & well-being of all 10-24-year-old young people in the community of Ballymun, North Dublin.
We are recruiting for a full-time (35 hours per week) Project Leader (Centre-based) to support and manage the delivery of UBU Your Place Your Space programmes of work that support young people in their growth and development. A six-month probationary period will apply.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- An NSETS recognised professionally endorsed qualification in Youth Work or Youth and Community Work or an equivalent professional Degree Level Qualification in the Education / Social Studies Field.
- 5 years’ experience working with young people in a youth or community setting in a paid capacity
- Be self-motivated and highly organised
- Have excellent problem-solving skills
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Have a genuine interest in positively impacting the lives of vulnerable young people
- Be computer literate.
Highly Desirable:
- 3 years’ plus (full-time) leadership experience
- Mini-bus D Licence
Key Tasks
Report directly to the YSM and to work as an integral part of the BRYR Senior Management Team:
- To work towards the achievement of the organisation’s overall objectives;
- Ensure that the actions laid down by the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan are realised through annual workplans;
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local, statutory and community agents on efforts to promote and pursue the development and welfare of young people in Ballymun;
- Contribute to BRYR’s advocacy for youth development generally;
- Contribute to BRYR’s ongoing review of strategy, policy and good practice;
- Prepare and pursue fund-raising initiatives and grant applications;
- Budget and manage the allocated finances set by the Board and Youth Service Manager;
- Manage all attendance, timekeeping, leave and performance appraisal requirements for all members of staff team;
- Provide supervision and support to Staff Team, using the established supervisory process;
- Facilitate staff in the preparation of all reviews of the programme of work and co-ordinate the writing up/publishing of monthly/quarterly and yearly reports;
- All other reasonable requests of the Youth Service Manager/Board of Directors.
This position is funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth through the City of Dublin Youth Services.
Salary scales commensurate with ETB pay scales.
