In Sync Youth and Family Services is a dynamic voluntary organisation dedicated to working with young people in their local communities. In Sync is committed to the provision of quality youth services through an integrated multi-disciplinary approach.

The Bridge Youth Diversion Project is one of a range of special youth projects aimed at diverting young people from crime, funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union. The project offers a range of educational and recreational activities for young people aged 12-17 years within the Leixlip Garda District (Leixlip, Celbridge, Maynooth and Kilcock).

Applicants must demonstrate in their application form that they have experience or knowledge of:

  • Managing and supervising a staff team.
  • Engaging and working directly with young people in a paid capacity, ideally within a youth justice context.
  • Developing and implementing individual and group-based targeted intervention programmes for young people and their families, using evidence based models of practice.
  • Developing youth groups and services for young people, programme development, training, face-to-face youth work and other methods.
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key agencies in the catchment area to enhance the targeted response to young people.
  • Using the YLS assessment tool to develop and implement case management plans for young people.
  • Implementing an agreed annual plan, reporting on the work to the relevant stakeholders, and evaluating your work.
  • Report writing, applying for funding and overseeing budgets.

Applications should

  • Have a minimum of Two years’ experience of Youth or Community work in a professional capacity.
  • Have experience of leading a staff team.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have a clear understanding of Youth Work and/or Youth Justice Practice and ethos.
  • Have competency in training, group work and organisational skills.
  • Have a professional qualification in Youth/Community work, Youth Justice Work and/or a directly related field.
  • Be willing to work unsocial hours and a time off in lieu system.
  • Have full clean driving license and own transport.

The successful candidate will be employed by In Sync Youth and Family Services until the end of December 2025, including a 6 month probationary period. Closing date for applications is 12pm on Friday 24th January, 2025.
