Newbridge Curragh Youth Project Worker
(17.5 hours weekly)
In Sync Youth & Family Services is a dynamic voluntary organisation dedicated to working with children, young people and their families in their local communities. We are committed to the provision of quality youth & family services through an integrated multi-disciplinary approach.
This post is funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) through Kildare & Wicklow Education & Training Board (KWETB) as part of the UBU - Your Place, Your Space Scheme. The Project Worker will work as part of the Newbridge Curragh Youth Project Team to develop and implement a range of services and interventions for young people in Newbridge and the Curragh areas.
The successful candidate must demonstrate in their application that they have:
- a level 7 qualification or higher in Youth Work, Community Work, Social Studies or Social Care.
- a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a youth work setting with ‘at-risk’ young people in a paid capacity.
- experience of developing positive working relationships with young people, their families and communities.
- experience of working as part of a team.
- experience of working on an inter-agency basis with a range of partners.
They must also:
- Have a good working knowledge of the youth work sector in Ireland
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong recording, writing, reporting and evaluation skills & experience.
- Be willing to work evenings, unsocial hours and a time off in lieu system.
- Have a full clean driving license and own transport.
The successful candidates will be employed by In Sync Youth & Family Services on a fixed-term contract, with a scheduled start date in December 2024. Closing date for applications is 1pm on Thursday 28th November 2024. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday 4th December. In Sync may panel from this interview process for future vacancies.
