Enthusiastic Support Worker required to support a young man to live an Independent Life.

• Part time Position (8 hours per month) Evening work only
• Rate of Pay €15 ph
• Location New Ross Area

Enthusiastic Support Worker required to support a young Aspergers Adult (high functioning autism). The young man is looking for a support worker to assist him to attend social outings and events in the community. Other duties may include cooking skills and helping with special interests

Whilst your employment will lie with the AT Network you will work directly for the person. We act as intermediary between our members – who we call Leaders – and the Health Service Executive (HSE)

We are looking for a motivated individual who is empathetic, patient, and reliable, who wants to provide support to empower people with disabilities to be as independent as they can be, so that they hold charge over their own lives, just like everybody else.

Essential Criteria:

1. An Understanding of autism and anxiety along with a genuine interest in working with autistic people and families.
2. Have a full driving license – travel allowance available
3. Strong values and person-centred approach
4. Must be enthusiastic, resilient, energetic, and proactive
5. Social skills required to relate well with others.

Desirable Criteria:

1. Social Care Degree
2. A qualification in autism including relevant autism experience
3. Broad experience of working with young people with disabilities is also desirable.
