Limerick Youth Service Community Training Centre (CTC) provides vocational training courses and life skills programmes to early school leavers under Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board’s Youthreach Programme. Our courses are designed to enhance learners’ potential to learn new skills and achieve relevant certification necessary for progression into employment and/or Further Education and Training.
The Limerick Youth Service CTC invites applications from individuals who have a passion for contributing to making a difference in a young person’s future.
Induction / Stepping Up Instructor
About You
This CTC Instructor role will respond to learner needs through supporting early school leavers to re-engage in the learning environment in a supportive manner. Beginning with the induction programme, learners will be introduced into the CTC from enrolment to developing their individual learning plan and progressing onto a full-time training programme or on to the Stepping Up programme. This second phase of engagement will assist learners who would benefit from additional supports in developing personal and social skills, addressing life skills such as timekeeping, following a schedule, preparing for the training day etc. The Induction/ Stepping Up Instructor will be responsible for the progression of learners through these programmes onto a full-time training programme in the CTC.
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised qualification in Training & Education, or similar relevant 3rd level qualification
- Previous experience of working with young people aged 15 – 19 in a training environment
- Experience in the delivery of QQI Level 3 and Level 4 modules.
- Excellent communication, teamworking and IT skills
- Adaptability to work with learners with various degrees of ability and motivation and an awareness of the challenges relating to early school leavers
- Proven ability to provide guidance and deliver flexible training options to new and emerging learners
