Wish to recruit a
Community Development Worker
with the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP)
Longford Community Resources are seeking to recruit a person in the position of temporary Community Development Worker to cover maternity leave. The role of the Community Development Worker is to initiate and develop community work responses with people from marginalised communities and with community groups to address issues of poverty, inequality and social exclusion.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and efficient person with experience in community development and knowledge of the implementation of community development principles and practices to address inequality, poverty and social exclusion.
Specific requirements include:
- Relevant third level qualification in Community Development or related field.
- Three or more years’ experience working in community development or related field is desirable.
- Excellent social analysis and understanding of community development as a means of addressing inequality.
- A commitment to equality, human rights and social inclusion.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
- Excellent planning, report writing, evaluation and computer skills.
- A full clean Driving Licence and access to own transport.
Commencement of employment is subject to successful completion of Garda Vetting. A probationary period will apply. Starting salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
