Clinical Support Worker
Wexford Rape Crisis (WEXRC) is a service offering counselling to women, men and young people (age 12 years and upwards) who have been affected in any way by Domestic, Sexual or Gender based violence.
In addition we offer support counselling to a partner, family member or friend who is supporting the person who has been abused.
THE POSITION
Title: Clinical Support Worker (Counsellor or Assistant Psychologist)
Reporting to: Clinical Team Leader
Place of Work: The Rocks, Maudlintown, Wexford Y35NF8A
Working Hours: Part-time (3 days Wed/Thurs/Fri)
Nature of Post: Fixed term contract for 1 year
We invite applications from qualified and accredited Counsellors/AssistantPsychologiststo support clients on the waiting list by:
- Assessing clients for counselling
- Providing short-term focused therapeutic interventions
- Risk assessment and managing duty of care on waiting lists
- Child Protection monitoring and reporting
- Facilitate group work for those waiting for one to one counselling
- Facilitate group work for those coming to an end of one to one counselling
- Provide other practical supports(e.g. Garda Accompaniment) to clients as required
- Statistic collation, analysis and report-writing is also a key component of the role
Candidates must possess:
- An accredited qualification in counselling/psychotherapy, minimum Diploma level, recognised and accredited with IACP/IAHIP/PSI or equivalent body OR a Degree in Psychology
- A minimum of 2 years clinical work
- Experience of providing short-term focused one to one therapeutic interventions
- Experience of group facilitation in a therapeutic setting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, report-writing and data entry.
