Introduction

Meath Women’s Refuge and Support Services (MWRSS) provide a wide range of support and crisis services, including refuge accommodation to women and children who have experienced domestic violence in Co. Meath. Our organisation was founded in 1987 and we have expanded our work over the intervening years to include outreach services, court accompaniment, therapeutic supports, and a children and young person’s programme.

We are currently seeking applications for the following positions:

Full time Role (Permanent) - Children’s Support Worker-This role is funded by CUAN

We are seeking a suitably qualified children’s support worker to work with children and young people that reside in our refuge accommodation. This work will take place under our evaluated model of work for children in refuge. It will involve supporting children with the transition into refuge by providing a safe space through play and other creative activities. Each child will have the right to participate in a support plan that represents their overall needs while in refuge. This role will also support mothers with parenting after domestic violence and other supports related to their children. The role will support the transition out of refuge and link them into our community children’s programme and external agencies where required.

Number of Hours:
37 hours per week Monday to Friday. Start and finish times will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10am- 6pm, Thursday 10am to 7pm and Friday 10am to 4:30pm. (30-minute lunch break included).

(flexible working will be required and a TOIL policy is in place)

Salary:
€40,769 (Point one on MWRSS Salary Scale)
