About the service:

Extern is operating a specialist project named Janus Justice covering Cork. The Programme is targeted at young people aged 12-24 years who are involved in offending behaviour in the community and who may also have complex additional needs such as addiction, homelessness and mental health. Through a tailored intensive one-to-one intervention, support is provided to the young person who is at high risk of reception into custody, at risk of an escalation of their offending/ anti-social behaviours, who are not engaging in the Youth Diversion Programme or are in Residential Care. The programme content concentrates on addressing the criminogenic risk factors leading to their offending/anti-social behaviour. The programme also aims to develop pro-social skills and behaviours, improve community involvement, provision of experiential learning opportunities, and family work to improve relationships within the home.
