Outreach Support Worker

The Empowering Communities Programme (ECP) is an initiative being implemented by Longford Community Resources which will use a community development approach to address social exclusion and the impacts of poverty in specific geographic areas.

Longford Community Resources wish to recruit an Outreach Support Worker working 35 hours per week for an initial period to 31st December 2024. The Outreach Support Worker will support the Community Engagement Worker in their work using a community development approach to strengthening the capacity of the community to work together and with key voluntary and statutory organisations and structures.

The successful candidate will have:

• 3rd level qualification (e.g., Degree) or equivalent in Community Development
• Have experience of engaging with disadvantaged communities
• Have knowledge and understanding of the issues, barriers and problems that families and individuals from disadvantaged and marginalised communities face.
• A commitment to equality, human rights and social inclusion.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
• Excellent planning, report writing, evaluation and computer skills.

Commencement of employment is subject to successful completion of Garda Vetting and a probationary period will apply.
