Position: Support and Advocacy Worker 
(full-time, permanent contract)

Location: Sligo town, Carrick on Shannon and outreach in Counties Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan with some remote working

DVAS is the specialist domestic violence service working with women in Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan. We are seeking a motivated experienced individual to join our team to deliver a range of supports to women experiencing domestic violence and coercive control in Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan.

This role involves working individually and as part of a team delivering DVAS’s one-to-one support, information and advocacy service and facilitating group-based support programmes to women experiencing domestic violence and coercive control as well as engaging in inter-agency fora.

Salary: €38,900

Key Requirements:

  • A relevant third level qualification (eg, women’s studies, community and youth work, social care, advocacy studies) or equivalent
  • Relevant experience of working directly with women in a care or support setting.
  • An understanding of equality and diversity issues
  • An interest in women’s issues and an understanding of gender and the impact of rigid gender roles in families, community and society
