Summary

The Climate Action short course development team are seeking tenders from suitably competent and qualified individuals and/or organisations to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the work to date of our pilot programme in secondary schools and devise a coherent 3-5 year strategy for its future development.

Project overview

The Climate Action short course pilot programme has been piloting a new junior cycle short course since September 2021. We wish to thoroughly evaluate the first three years of the pilot, its impact and ensure its sustainable integration into the school curriculum nationwide. The programme aims to drive innovation in the area of student empowerment and capacity building for meaningful youth-led action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the post-primary sector.

The course is currently running in 26 schools with 40 teachers and approximately 1500 students across the Republic of Ireland.

The pilot programme provides initial online and in-person teacher training, peer-support meetings, and online resources for all participating teachers.
