About FIT’s Cuimsiú programme:

The FIT Cuimsiú programme is a customised national access & career progression programme and is co-funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of Social Protection & the European Union. It is supported by Pobal’s WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Pathways programme. It is a new programme focusing on providing personalised pathways to certified industry technology & nationally accredited training and/or employment for individuals at risk of under, or long-term unemployment due to disability. In addition, the programme provides specialised support & guidelines for employers.

TITLE: Employability Mentor / Employment Supporter for FIT’s Cuimsiú Programme

Role & Responsibilities:

Duties:

  • To report any concerns/issues/areas of risk pertaining to participants to the manager/relevant team as soon as they arise.
  • To create content for online & classroom delivery for neurodiverse learners that exceeds accessibility & best practice standards.
  • Be a strong advocate for each participant assigned to you upon registration, during their FIT journey and post course completion.
  • Can review learning content and provide documented feedback to the FIT learning technologist team to make the necessary changes as appropriate.
  • Keep appropriate and accurate documentation & provide administrative support to the Cuimsiú project coordinator.
  • To identify and utilize community settings and to recruit & select programme participants.
  • Represent FIT at external events & expos where appropriate.

Employability Work Preparation Programme:

  • To ensure work of the FIT Cuimsiú Employment service continues to be informed by research, national and international best practice.
  • To lead the development & delivery of content for each of six modular courses with the support of the FIT Teams & external assistive technology experts as needed, which includes but is not limited to CV development and Interview Preparation along with five other learning modules as outlined in the programme plan.

Sourcing Employment & Education Opportunities:

  • To liaise with individuals and organisations to complete appropriate work needs analysis & personal progression plans (P4’s) to enable each participant to be successful.
  • Engage positively with multiple employers nationally in supporting a successful outcome for the supported employee and the employer via the creation of employer networking events & workshops.
  • Play a key role in supporting the sourcing, maintaining and development of employment opportunities as appropriate for the persons supported.
  • Guide individuals to maintain excellent work roles and workplace relationships.

Person Specification

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree qualified (NFQ Level 6 Award min) or equivalent relevant to the role, e.g., Social Care, Occupational Therapy or Psychology.
  • Experience with supporting individuals with a disability specifically neurodiversity to prepare and/or source further education & employment.
  • Excellent communication skills & knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Canva.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a professional training delivery qualification & accessible course development experience.

Job Type: 2 year contract, 5 days (37.5 hours) per week

Salary: €30,000 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Ability to commute to Dublin 11/relocate.
  •  

Work Location: Hybrid - 2 days off site or remote, 3 days based in Glasnevin, Co. Dublin but with expected travel within Ireland to meet with employers and participants.
