Mullingar Community Training Centre provides vocational training courses to early school leavers. Our courses are designed to enhance the learner’s potential to develop new skills and achieve relevant certification necessary for progression into employment, further education or training. This role demands flexibility in responding to learner needs through the provision of a variety of flexible training options which ultimately supports their progression into the workplace or another learning environments

The Mullingar CTC Board invites applications from enthusiastic & self-motivated individuals for the position of:

Hairdressing Instructor – Special Purpose Contract

Applicants should possess:

• A formal Qualification in a relevant Subject Matter of at least QQI Level 7
• A recognised qualification in Training & Education/Teaching or similar of at least QQI level 7
• Relevant experience of working with young people in a training environment
• Barbering experience advantageous
• The ability to integrate & assist with Technology Enhanced Learning, course content development & other tutoring skills & approaches.
• The ability to provide guidance to new & emerging learners.
• The ability to work effectively with Staff, Learners, External Partners, Employers & others as appropriate to support learner progression & development
• A learner-centered approach to the work.
• Creativity to design & deliver flexible training options  Excellent administration, communication & listening skills.
• An awareness & working knowledge of VTCT/ITEC/QQI awards & key state agencies who work within the FET sector.

The salary associated with this post will start at €33,254
