A.S.S.C. (Accompaniment Support Services for Children): Volunteers - Cork
Forensic and Court Support for Young People and Their Families Children
We specialise in providing practical and emotional accompaniment support in Court and Forensic Unit to young people (and their families) who have been victims of crime or witnesses to crime.
Our service is nationwide and we have trained accompaniment support volunteers throughout the country. Due to our current expansion plan, we need more, especially in and around Cork City.
If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you:
No formal qualifications are required as we offer comprehensive training, just a willingness to help, kindness and empathy. You will need to be over 22 years of age and have excellent English.
Our training course takes place over 2 weekends, and includes a visit to the Court and Forensic Unit. When training is completed, we will also require 2 references and garda vetting.
If you would like more information about volunteering with us or an informal chat, please contact Margaret Dent, National Volunteer Co-ordinator on 085 139 0217 or volunteercoordinator@assc.ie
