2into3 Q1 Nonprofit Talent Trends for 2025

2into3’s latest assessment reveals a significant increase in recruitment activity across the nonprofit sector in Q1 2025. The sector’s continued focus on programme implementation and direct service provision remains evident. There has also been a noticeable shift toward external-facing roles such as communications and CEO positions, while traditional support functions like finance and human resources are showing signs of contraction.

The Social Services subsector continues to lead in activity, accounting for 33% of senior-level roles in Q1 2025. According to 2into3’s data, other subsectors are also experiencing growth — including Recreation & Sports. While this is partly influenced by methodology, it is clear that the subsector has been actively recruiting senior talent during this quarter.

Overall, the findings reflect a sector that is not only resilient but evolving — with sustained demand for leadership skillsets across a wide range of areas.
