April 9th and Community Day is fast approaching

On Wednesday, April 9th, we’re inviting you to bring your community together for a day of connection, fun, and most importantly, support for those living with sight loss.

Whether you’re passionate about a cause, hobby, or activity, we’re asking you to turn it into purpose by hosting an event that raises awareness and funds for Vision Ireland.

What Can You Do?

Host a fundraising event of any size, big or small, and encourage donations to help Vision Ireland continue providing vital support to those who need it most. Choose what works for you, host a coffee morning, quiz night, walk, book club, art workshop, or maybe even a football match or bake sale. You can create anything that brings people together in your community.

Once you’ve chosen your idea, we’ve got you covered. We’ll provide everything you need, from promotional materials to fundraising packs and setting up your very own online fundraising page. All you need to do is invite your friends, family, colleagues, and even new faces to join the fun.

Why Get Involved?

Loneliness disproportionately affects people with blindness or sight loss, often making it more difficult to form connections and find a sense of belonging.

Many individuals in our communities struggle to meet others, feeling unsure of how to connect with their neighbours or in need of a little encouragement to join in.

For those living with sight loss, these barriers are even greater, leading to increased isolation.

By participating in The Community Day, you’re helping break down these barriers, providing opportunities for people to connect, build relationships, and feel part of a supportive, inclusive community. Your involvement ensures that people with sight loss are not only supported but are also given the chance to forge meaningful connections with others.

Ways to Get Involved and Make a Difference.

• Join an Event: If you’re unable to host, don’t worry, pop into one of our stores, have a browse, meet our team, and support by donating in store Click here to find your nearest store.
