Community Foundation Ireland: Grants opportunity for groups in Monaghan
Community Foundation Ireland has announced a new grants opportunity for communities in West Monaghan. Energia’s Drumlins Park Wind Farm has created a Community Benefit Fund to support those around it. Grants will be available in a competitive open grant round to charities and community groups operating within 5km of the wind farm. Applications are invited from groups operating within 5km of the wind farm (click here to view the location in Google Maps).
The Community Benefit Fund will prioritise energy efficiency and sustainability and will be open for 15 years. The overarching theme for Year 1 is Community Sustainability, and applications are invited in the following areas:
- Childcare
- Basic community infrastructure (e.g. community spaces, playground)
- Building community capacity (e.g. training programmes, community events)
- Culture and Heritage
- Social enterprise
- Environmental sustainability, biodiversity and climate action
Grants of up to €40,000 are available for eligible projects that align with these goals.
