Irish Hospice Foundation: Scholarships in End-of-Life & Bereavement Care
Applications are open for Irish Hospice Foundation’s Scholarships in End-of-Life and Bereavement Care for the 2025/2026 academic year.
We offer a small number of scholarships up to the value of €3,000 each to make education in end-of-life and bereavement care accessible to multiple disciplines (nursing, medicine, allied health professionals and others). Two scholarships will be reserved for those working in palliative care.
Applicants from acute, nursing home and community health sectors, including counsellors/therapists in private practice, as well as applicants from general voluntary community/sectors, are invited to apply.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be eligible to register (or already be registered) for a named and accredited post-graduate NFQ Level 9 or 10 (or equivalent) study programme in a relevant area during the current academic year.
- Applicants must be working or volunteering in support of adult or child end-of-life or bereavement care in one of the following settings:
- Acute settings
- Residential Care homes
- Community health care
- General voluntary/community
- Appropriate study leave must have been secured.
- Applicants must normally be resident in Ireland and eligible for EU fees.
