Who We Are

SeeBeyondBorders Ireland (https://seebeyondborders.ie) is an Irish-registered development charity dedicated to improving primary education in Cambodia. Fewer than 3% of 15 year olds reach basic proficiency in maths or reading, a legacy of the devastation caused by the appalling Khmer Rouge regime under Pol Pot.

We believe that well-trained teachers are key to transforming children’s futures. Our partner organisation, SeeBeyondBorders Cambodia, is locally led and delivers evidence-based teacher training to embed best practices in Cambodian public schools.

We uphold high professional standards and were proud winners in our category at the Carmichael Good Governance Awards in November 2024.

Join Our Board

We are seeking new trustees who possess a passion for education, equality, and international development to strengthen our Board and advance our mission.

1. Finance & Governance

We are seeking a trustee with strong financial management or accountancy expertise (ideally with a qualification). You will oversee financial controls, risk management, and compliance. You will also Chair the Board’s Finance, Audit, Risk, and Governance Committee (FARG).

2. Other Trustee Roles

We are continuously building the Board to attract interest from individuals with expertise and experience across a range of areas. These include international development, education, advocacy, international development, communications, IT, finance, HR, governance.

Commitment

• Six board meetings per year (plus approx. four sub-committee meetings).
• Meetings are typically held via videoconference.
