Invitation to the launch of Rape Crisis Ireland's 'Learning From Survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence'
Rape Crisis Ireland invites you to the launch of 'Learning From Survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence' on Thursday 30th January in the Royal Irish Academy, 19 Dawson Street, from 10:30-11:30.
The publication, which includes statistics collated from Rape Crisis Centres around Ireland, gives a unique insight into the experiences of survivors of rape and sexual violence in rural and urban Ireland. The launch will include a particular focus on men - how they are impacted and how their experience of sexual violence differs from women. The keynote speaker will be Dr Kennath Widanaralalage* of the School of Psychology, King's College, London, who will give his expert reflection on our statistics. Other speakers TBC.
This event aims to educate and raise awareness about the impact of traumatic experiences of sexual violence so that better support can be provided to survivors, and in order to create a safer community for all.
