Event Description: 

This 3-hour interactive training session is designed to equip volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations with the skills and knowledge needed to engage young people in volunteering, while promoting EU values such as human dignity, democracy, and solidarity. Participants will explore practical strategies, case studies, and hands-on activities, all aimed at fostering active citizenship among youth. By the end of the course, participants will be better prepared to create inclusive, impactful volunteer opportunities that resonate with younger generations. Booking is essential, and lunch is provided. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

Learning Objectives/By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of youth volunteering in promoting EU values such as democracy, equality, and solidarity.
  • Identify key challenges and opportunities in engaging young people in volunteering across European contexts.
  • Apply practical strategies to create inclusive and flexible volunteer opportunities that appeal to young people.
  • Foster empathy and flexibility when working with diverse youth, incorporating the principles of social inclusion and active citizenship.
  • Utilise the European Solidarity Corps and other youth volunteering frameworks to strengthen engagement with young volunteers.

At the end of this course, participants will:

  • Have a clear understanding of how to incorporate EU values into youth volunteer programmes.
  • Be able to engage young people effectively in volunteering, particularly in ways that support active citizenship and social inclusion.
  • Be equipped with practical tools and case study examples to enhance the quality of volunteer opportunities they offer.
  • Feel confident in fostering a culture of solidarity and inclusion through youth engagement, enhancing both personal and community well-being.
