Participants required for an International Study on Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders & the Justice System

Research Title: “An international comparison study on the vulnerabilities of individuals with FASD to, and within criminal justice system encounters.”.

Working alongside colleagues across the Globe, Ireland has been asked by Dr David Junior Gilbert to take part in the ‘International Study on Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and the Justice System’

Supported by both The University of Salford and the School of Health and Society in Manchester, Dr Gilbert and his research team are studying suggestibility, confabulation, compliance, acquiescence and how this may complicate outcomes for individuals with FASD.

Importantly this research has been designed with the input from people living with FASD.

Other Countries involved in this research are: United Kingdom, United States, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Anyone with a diagnosis of FASD from the age of 11 years and above (no upper age limit) is welcome to contribute.

With support from The University of Salford and School of Health & Society, the study will investigate suggestibility, confabulation, compliance, acquiescence and how this may complicate outcomes for individuals with FASD.
