Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of Survivors of instutions? Do you have the skills and dedication to help us expand and enhance our services? The Christine Buckley Centre for Education and Support CLG is seeking motivated and committed individuals to join our board in various capacities, including Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer due to expansion and refresh of current board members.

About Us

Located in Dundrum, Co Dublin, the Christine Buckley Centre provides a welcoming, dignified, and supportive environment where Survivors can heal and rebuild their lives. Our services include education, personal development, holistic practices, and creative activities in a community setting. Peer support is integral to our mission, and we have been a beacon of hope for Survivors for over 20 years.

Board Positions Available

We are looking for individuals with diverse skills and backgrounds to fill the following roles on our board:

Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer

General Duties of Board Members:

• Comply with the charity’s governing document.
• Ensure the charity fulfils its charitable purpose for the public benefit.
• Act in the best interest of the charity.
• Act with reasonable care and skill.
• Manage the assets of the charity.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation, providing insight, oversight, and experience in strategy formulation across various sectors.
• Assist in creating strategic plans that comply with current legislation and best practices.

Specific Role Requirements

Treasurer:

• Strong financial background.
• Experience in financial oversight, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Commitment to the highest levels of corporate governance.

Desirable Skills for All Positions

• A deep appreciation and knowledge of the not-for-profit sector.
• An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values.
• Recent and relevant experience in charity governance, fundraising, and PR activities.

Board Meetings

The board meets ten times a year at our centre in Dundrum, conveniently located next to the Luas Line.
