Sage Advocacy
Sage is the National Advocacy Service for Older People. It also supports survivors of institutional abuse; and healthcare patients who can’t access support elsewhere. It responds according to need with Information – Support – Advocacy – Safeguarding. It uses Systemic Advocacy to address issues requiring systems change. Sage is a ‘go to’ on the workings of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Acts.
Sage Advocacy ensures a person’s voice is heard, that their wishes are taken into account and that they are assisted to be involved in decisions that affect them. Sage is independent of family, service providers and systems interests. Publicly funded, we collaborate where possible and challenge where necessary.
