County Wicklow Volunteer Centre
County Wicklow Volunteer Centre is an independent organisation committed to the promotion, development and support of volunteer participation in the local area.
County Wicklow Volunteer Centre aims and objectives are to:
- promote, support and encourage organisations whose activities involve volunteers, particularly in their own local areas and community
- promote volunteer work and recruit and place volunteers in a wide range of voluntary work with voluntary and statutory bodies and the Volunteer bureau
- promote good practice in voluntary activity
- promote, facilitate, organise, direct and carry out ventures of all kinds designed to enable people in the community to participate in the development and improvement of volunteering
- promote and facilitate the direction of policy to create an awareness of volunteering
- develop education, training and support for volunteers
- liaise with statutory and voluntary bodies on voluntary work issues
- develop with the co-operation of the local groups and the agencies new projects that involve volunteers
- develop, monitor and evaluate strategies and methods of publishing the work of the County Wicklow Volunteer Centre
