Community Relations Information Centre
The Community Relations Council was set up in 1990 as an independent charity to promote better community relations between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland and the recognition of cultural diversity. The Council has no view on what form a political solution should take in Northern Ireland but regards the development of tolerance and mutual understanding within the community as a fundamental part of the process. The Council seeks to influence people at all levels, from working class estates to the executive boardrooms. Much constructive work is already being done by groups and individuals and the Council supports and encourages this. But the debate about community relations and cultural diversity needs to be widened and developed and in this the Council hopes to involve the entire community.
