ALONE
ALONE is a national organisation that helps older people in need to age at home.
They work with older people who have difficulties with loneliness, ill health, poverty, poor housing or homelessness. They support them through these challenges and link them in with the relevant services they need to live in the community. ALONE is independent and receives no government funding for the day to day running of our services. They have 200 active volunteers that are trained and supported by professional staff. All our services are quality approved ensuring we are high value and low cost. 100% of all donations goes directly to providing services to older people in need.
Our mission:
Helping elderly people in need is the founding principle of ALONE and has guided our work over the years.
Our objectives are to:
- provide food, clothing, fuel and other comforts for people over sixty years of age who are unable to provide for themselves.
- provide shelter or accommodation on a temporary or permanent basis for such people.
- provide education and information services on the problems and needs of elderly people living on their own.
- provide assistance in the refurbishing, renovations and redecoration of accommodation of premises owned or rented by people described above.
