Clann Mór
Founded in the late 1970’s, a support group was established which provided a meeting place/focus point for parents and friends of people with intellectual disabilities.
In time the group turned its attention to the prospect of the providing Respite Care. They secured a loan to buy a suitable property (St. Oliver’s, Commons Road, Navan). The company purchased this property in 1982. The set-up and preparation for occupation was all done on a voluntary basis, with local companies donating a lot of the contents.
The company has developed over the years and currently has seven residential houses and a respite service. Clann Mór supports a number of individuals with intellectual disabilities to live independently in their home. We hope to develop some new services in the near future.
Residents are supported to live the best life they can.
Mission
Clann Mór endeavors to empower the people who avail of our service by supporting the principal of person centeredness. This allows each person to exercise choice in decision making and to have greater control over their own lives, in accordance with their ability.
