Africa Solidarity Centre Ireland
The Africa Solidarity Centre is a national organisation and the main umbrella body of the African Diaspora organisations and African country groups in Ireland advocating, educating and networking towards a just and inclusive society in Ireland; and advances attitudes, policies and actions that promote justice, social inclusion and meaningful participation for African Diaspora, ethnic minorities, migrants, and communities in Ireland and encourages a more positive exchange.
The Africa Solidarity Centre aim to:
- promote justice, social inclusion and participation for African communities in Ireland and encourages a more positive Africa-Ireland exchange;
- works to advocate, educate and network towards a just and inclusive society in Ireland.
- tackle Racism, Afrophobia, Islamophobia, as all other discriminations, working at National and European level with other Anti-Racism organisations, to highlight and challenge the issue of racism in Ireland and promote the European Union the global anti-racist initiatives and other forms of structural discrimination affecting People of African Descent in Europe.
- promote and raise awareness on the International Decade for People of African Descent, through policy development to address the unequal development and access to justice; and work with other Grassroots Movements to evaluate and inform the EU Policy-Makers on the need to implement the UN Resolution 68/237 of 23 December 2013, by which it proclaimed the International Decade for People of African Descent,
- including the development of a Declaration for the Rights of African Peoples and a Permanent International Forum for African Peoples
- facilitate a meaningful inclusion of all African people in all social, political and economic aspects of life in Ireland
- reach out to the developing African immigrant community in Ireland and to promote their participation in society
- engage in community development and poverty alleviation projects that improve African community living standards.
- advance public education and knowledge on intercultural and anti-racism issues.
- promote links between Ireland and Africa and advance co-operation, dialogue and partnership on development issues.
- build capacity and resources, where people may engage in social and cultural activities, training and where they may engage in research on issues relating to Africa and Africa-Ireland exchange.
- network and collaborate with persons and bodies working among immigrants or active in global justice issues both at the local and international levels.

Our mission is to facilitate the meaningful inclusion of African people in all social, political and economic aspects of life in Ireland. We strive to promote a balanced and fair representation of Africa and its people among people in Ireland, Across Europe & Worldwide.
