South Connacht MABS: Service Delivery Manager & Money Adviser
The Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) is a national, free, confidential and independent service, providing advice and support to people in debt or in danger of getting into debt. Each MABS company is rooted within the communities they serve and staff work with clients to enable them to cope with immediate debt problems and assist clients with identifying appropriate solutions and advocate with creditors on their behalf.
South Connacht MABS is seeking to recruit the following positions:
Service Delivery Manager
Full Time (35 Hours per Week), Galway
South Connacht MABS has a vacancy for a permanent Full Time Service Delivery Manager. The Service Delivery Manager is fully responsible and accountable for the delivery of a timely, efficient and effective high quality Money Advice and Budgeting Service to clients in their designated area. - This is a permanent position subject to completion of a six-month probationary period.
- Full Time Salary Scale: €44,602 to €61,349 (including 2 long service increments), pro-rata for part time staff.
- Annual Leave Entitlement: 29 – 31 days (after 5 years’ service).
- Pension: There is a pension scheme is in place where 5% is contributed by the employee and 7% by the employer. Membership of the pension scheme is mandatory.
- Incremental Credit: It is expected that all new entrants to South Connacht MABS will be appointed at point one of the salary scale. However, South Connacht MABS Service operates an incremental credit process for appointments higher than point one. This process is applicable to new entrants into MABS. Incremental credit criteria, based on the competencies for the role, are assessed against employment history as laid out in the application form only. A request for incremental credit from a successful candidate must be made within the first 3 months of employment. The decision on whether or not to award an incremental credit is a decision made by the Board and is subject to the availability of funding.

- A panel of qualified candidates may be formed from which temporary or permanent, part-time and full-time SDM posts which arise in a specified period, up to a maximum of 12 months, will be filled. Posts will be located in South Connacht MABS.

Money Adviser
Full Time (35 Hours per Week), South Connacht MABS - Galway City Office
South Connacht MABS has a vacancy for a temporary Full Time Money Adviser. The Money Adviser will provide a free, independent, confidential money advice service to facilitate clients to deal with debt problems and to become financially independent in the long term. Money Advisers also provide debt prevention education to the target group.
- Temporary Position: This is a temporary full-time, specified purpose position which is expected to end on 31 December 2027. It is subject to completion of a six-month probationary period.
- Full Time Salary Scale: €37,460 to €53,961 (including 2 long service increments), pro-rata for part time staff.
- Annual Leave entitlement: 26 – 29 days (after 5 years’ service).
- Pension: There is a pension scheme is in place where 5% is contributed by the employee and 7% by the employer. Membership of the pension scheme is mandatory.
- Incremental Credit: It is expected that all new entrants to South Connacht MABS will be appointed at point one of the salary scale. However, South Connacht MABS operates an incremental credit process for appointments higher than point one. This process is applicable to new entrants into MABS.
