Salary Scale: Aligned to Focus Ireland Scale
(Starting Salary €36,687 - €39,856.49)

The purpose of this role is to provide on-site housing support to tenants in Long Term housing owned, supported, or managed by Focus Ireland.

What you will do

  • Work as a member of the Support Team based onsite providing services to tenants living here.
  • Be familiar with and comply with all relevant Focus Ireland policies e.g. Standards of Customer Service, Housing Policy, Health & Safety Policy, Personnel Policy.
  • Work in partnership with relevant external services and stakeholders for the overall purpose of supporting tenants to live in their own homes.
  • Assess needs in collaboration with the tenant and other stakeholders, develop appropriate support plans for each tenant and carry out support plan reviews with tenants.
  • Provide support/contact for each tenant through individual support sessions.
  • Ensure Focus Ireland Rent Policy is adhered to and appropriate rent control measures are in place.
  • Develop opportunities for tenants to be involved in the service, the wider Organisation and Local Community.
  • Support tenants in line with their tenancy agreement.
  • Work closely with the Property Management Team in relation to managing a tenancy, repairs, maintenance etc.
  • Support tenants to ensure that their accommodation is maintained to a reasonable standard.
  • Participate in the review, evaluation and development of the programme.
  • Maintain records in accordance with Focus Ireland policy.
  • Participate in relevant training and development courses as necessary.
  • Liaise and work effectively with the other divisions in Focus Ireland in relation to organisational procedures and policies in areas such as personnel, finance and administration, research, development, education, public awareness, and services.
  • Be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or Health & Safety Representative.

What you will need:

  • A relevant Third Level qualification at degree level i.e. social care, psychology, sociology.
  • Minimum of 2 year’s direct work experience in a social care setting.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Experience of working with people who have experienced homelessness, preferably in housing support.
  • Experience of the challenges faced by individuals adjusting to a drug/ alcohol free lifestyle.
  • Experience of assessing and developing appropriate plans based on need.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to develop professional skills as identified through supervision.
  • Available to work a 7-day liability rota.
  • Previous experience in a supported housing setting (desirable).
  • The skills required to advocate on behalf of people (desirable).
  • Ability to work in partnership with others (desirable).
  • Good report writing skills (desirable).
  • Information technology skills (desirable).
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviour (desirable).
