Invitation to Tender – Counsellor / Psychotherapist

Cherry Orchard Equine Centre CLG. invites applicants to tender for the provision of counselling / psychotherapy services to persons accessing our Blue Door project based in Cherry Orchard. Blue Door provides an in-house counselling service as part of a range of supports offered to families in Cherry Orchard and Dublin 10.

Blue Door offers counselling support to persons over 18 years from the community who experience intimidation, abuse, suicide ideation, domestic violence, bereavement, homelessness/housing crisis, or other kinds of violence, abuse or crisis, impacting on their mental health and well-being.

Counsellor / Psychotherapist Role:

  • Provide professional and compassionate therapeutic support to adults who are in crisis on a self-employed basis for a 1-year period with option to extend for second year
  • Provide evidence-informed strengths-based and goal-focused interventions
  • Conduct face to face risk assessments with clients and implement plans as appropriate
  • Work in accordance with Blue Door policies
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of practice with Blue Door
  • Ensure compliance with any necessary on-going psychotherapy registration requirements
  • Maintain professional and personal boundaries at all times
  • Attend ongoing external supervision in line with accredited body
  • Participate in peer supervision meetings
  • To be flexible regarding working hours in line with the needs of the service

Requirements:

  • Ability to engage adults in assessment and therapeutic work.
  • Demonstrate warmth and the ability to empathise with clients.
  • Experience of working with crisis intervention, relationship issues, bereavement, substance use, self-harm, suicidal ideation.
  • Work from a trauma-informed perspective.
  • Ability to reflect on practice to facilitate personal learning, professional development, and service improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills and capacity

Other Requirements:

  • A recognized qualification at minimum Level 8 in Counselling/Psychotherapy
  • Sufficient public liability and professional indemnity insurance
  • Up-to-date Tax Clearance Certificate
