Dublin Northwest Partnership is seeking to recruit one Full-Time or two Part-Time Family Link Workers for a new Traveller Parent Support Project.

The Parent Support Project will support parents from the Traveller Community to access quality early years parenting support programmes. This role will also support Travellers who are engaged with parenting programmes or early years services, where appropriate, to access other supports and programmes within DNP and externally. Dublin Northwest Partnership is a Local Development Company providing Community Development, Education, Employment, Enterprise and Wellness supports. The Family Link workers will join the DNP Community Development Team which provides supports to Community Organisations, to Older People and to New Communities.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • An understanding of how to work with Traveller Communities in culturally appropriate ways.
  • Experience paid or voluntary, in working with the Traveller Community.
  • A good knowledge of family support and community development.
  • A general knowledge of computers and communication technology.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to promote an understanding of Traveller Parenting experience within the partner agencies.
  • Capacity to work with people and communities to build on their strengths and capabilities

A third level qualification in a related field, e.g. social care, youth work, community development work etc. is desirable.

Other Requirements

Garda Vetting will be required for this role. Access to own transport desirable.

Salary: €36, 623 Officer Level 2 Point 2 (fulltime- 35 hours per week) or €18,312 (part-time- 17.5 hours per week).
