Social Care Workers & Support Workers 
Separated Children Seeking International Protection – Residential Setting

Locations: Cavan - Louth - Meath

Our positions may be suited to an individual looking to work in a busy environment, supporting young peoples’ transition into a new life in Ireland.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Promoting the rights and responsibilities of each young person within the service
• Participating in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans
• Promoting physical, emotional, social, educational, and religious welfare of each child/young person
• Liaising with professionals in relation to the care of young persons
• Adhering to policies and procedures
• Documentation and report writing

Qualifications

Social Care Worker:

A degree level 7+ on the National Framework of Qualifications in one of the following disciplines:

• Social care or Applied Social Studies
• Youth and Community
• BA(Hons) Youth and Community Development
• BA (Hons) Psychology
• Addiction Studies
• BA (Hons) counselling and Addiction Studies
• Disability Diploma (Primary Degree)
• Social Science

Support Worker:

QQI relevant qualification - Level 6

Candidates must have:

• Client focus, compassion and empathy are essential to the role
• Team work as well as flexibility and the ability to work off one’s own initiative
• Ideally a commitment to 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts per week (12 hrs per shift)
• Other valued skillsets (not mandatory): full drivers license, bilingual
